A photo taken as background for my husband's project (Marangoni effect). Making wine cry was not difficult, but capturing that in a photo was not easy. With flash, it was difficult to see where the tears are seen. Ambient light helped here, but that did not result in a good shot, as the tears were moveing fast and they needed to be sharp.
This was taken with Canon 500D on tripod, ISO 100, 1/200 s, f/11, with the 60 mm EF-S macro lens. A flash was bare in an umbrella at the back. The metallic parts of the umbrella disturbed, and a children's platic writing matt (kirjoitusalusta) was used for further diffusion. Various adjustments in Photoshop, such as expanding the area on the left and boosting the contrast.
